Dear Families,

Welcome to M.L. King Jr. Project Based Learning Elementary School!  We are committed to providing the best possible education to the children of this community. King Elementary is full of outstanding staff members that are dedicated to providing a quality education for every child, in every classroom, every day.  This year, we are continuing our journey into project based and personalized learning for all students K-5. We are excited to create an environment that will turn our students into “thinkers.”

OUR CURRICULUM FOCUS

We will remain steadfast in research based practices to ensure all students learn to read, write and demonstrate the math skills necessary to apply them to our projects. Our new approach will allow students to be engaged, collaborative, and hands-on with real world projects and connections to careers. Student curiosity is used to develop excitement around solving problems through collaboration and choice.

OUR STEPS FOR SUCCESS

It is King Elementary's priority to not only meet students’ academic needs, but also provide supports for students’ social and emotional growth. We are committed to teaching them foundational skills to succeed in life:

  • Habits of success help students to learn and grow
  • Meaningful teacher student relationships are fostered
  • Sense of community where the students, parents, and school work together

OUR ACTIVITIES

King will continue to offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs that offer leadership opportunities, environmental stewardship, knowledge and appreciation of the arts, athletic intramural sports, coding and robotics technology, and so much more! King Elementary believes in developing well rounded and socially confident students. We look forward to your involvement in all aspects of King!
